It was the shooters car at that ludicrous event in Texas.

Cobalt SS I think.

I think it's a BMW 3-Series

Quarter window and door card match up nicely. I’d say right you are.

I didn’t realize the SS actually has a pretty nice interior. It’s not great but looks sporty.
Interestingly my sister has a regular Cobalt but it looks nothing like this (plus it’s a girls car so it’s full of trash)

... bro.

That was my guess originally, but the mirrors aren't right.

Yup. I was wrong, it is indeed a Cobalt SS.

Why does it look like a bomb exploded in it?
![]() 05/05/2015 at 11:45 |

Not sure, but a standard operating procedure when in a movement to contact while protecting civilians is to ram the target vehicle with an armored vehicle as a means of distraction as your shooter element flanks. It is popularly known as a rolling ambush counter-attack on a stationary target.

Well, the news report I heard said that one cop dispatched both shooters with his duty sidearm, so I’m pretty sure he didn’t use an APC.

Oh I remember why the car looks like this! They detonated several items found inside the car that they thought could be explosive devices or secondaries.

That would explain it. Thanks. And props to that cop who did the job with his service pistol. He was definitely outgunned.

I do not believe for one second that it was a single cop with his “service pistol” that was Texas and the Gellar Institute who orchestrated the event paid for PMC security details to be on sight. Those PMC details often downplay their status and roles so that they can better accomplish their mission of protecting innocents.

Yup. Blackwater changed its name not long after the name “Blackwater” started making mainstream news.

Blackwater -> XE Services -> Academi International
Dynacorp bought out by Triple Canopy, sold to new investors who created Craft Intl with Chris Kyle as CEO/Spokesperson
AEGIS = British civilian intelligence and operations company
Armor Group = largest worldwide PMC contractor, hire Gurka warriors on the cheap to operate/train in and around Iraqi/Afghan/Pakistani police units
I have worked with them all in some variance or another. Back in the closing days of the Bush administration, Blackwater would send guys on fully blacked out contracts so that the US government could hire them as A-Teams to assist CIA, OGA, and NSA spies and operators. This was so that the gov would have plausible deniability if the mission failed. All the extractions of spies (re. not hostages - these were the more low profile ops) were typically conducted by vetted BW and AEGIS operators. The rescues and extractions that the general populace know about were typically conducted by SEALs and the D-Boys or ODA.

It also name changed when Erik Prince and the company made an IPO and Blackwater became XE services when they went public.

A Garland traffic cop, whose name has not been released, returned fire with his pistol, killing the men...
[Garland police spokesman Joe] Harn lauded the officer’s actions, saying he did what he was trained to do.
“Under the fire that he was put under, he did a very good job and probably saved lives,” he said.

To the victors go the history books, my friend.

That’s a nice saying; I’ll remember it.
But on the one hand, I have the Dallas Morning News. On the other I have some guy who (no affront intended), for all I know, is a paranoid militia type posting his opinion. Now to be fair to you, for all I know, you might be Mr. Blackwater himself.
But I’m the sort of guy who, if you are proven to be correct, will look you up and say, “You told me so.”

Ludicrous: I wholeheartedly concur. Why go to lengths to bait crazies?

Ha, I’m not a militia guy, just a vet of very recent wars who had many dealing with security details for dignitaries and officials.
Sidenote, if dude did really take him out with his EDC patrol pistol I stand amazed and doff my hat to him as a very deserving man. I have been skeptical because the true nature of this event and its organization has come to light proving it to be less Charlie Hebdo and more KKK.

I’m glad you didn’t let me offend you as it was not my intent. My personal opinion is that the entire thing was dumbassery and I’m glad it didn’t get a bunch of people killed.

Life is too short to get pissed off about someone having a valid but opposing opinion of your own.
